Welcome to Karma Vista Vineyards and winery, one of Michigan's newest wineries from one of the state's oldest farm families. We are a few miles inland from Lake Michigan on a beautiful hillside vineyard above the small town of Coloma. Join us at our tasting room as we watch traffic on the highway far below us and try to decide why everyone else is in such a big

Third generation wine maker, Tony Peterson, perfected his craft while working many years as an apprentice in his father's winery. All the while, he dreamed of creating an experience that would incorporate the traditional art of wine making, old world charm and the very best of modern amenities. Nestled in the fertile wine growing hills of Coloma Michigan, Contessa Wine Cellars is the realization of that dream.

 

 

Domaine Berrien Cellars, established in 2001, is committed to hand-crafting high quality estate bottled wines from the grapes grown in our vineyards. We believe that great wines are made in the vineyard and shepherded to maturity in the cellar. While our operation may be new to the public, we have been making wines for family and friends for over 32 years. Some restrictions apply.

Believing that exceptional wine comes from exceptional grapes and their unique terroir, our grapes are hand-nurtured from the time they are planted, until the grapes are harvested.  Our people are committed to creating quality products.  Our wines are produced in our hillside facility and stored in an underground cellar.

With the rolling clay loam hills and the moderating effect of Lake Michigan, Lemon Creek Fruit Farm has grown some of the best grapes in Michigan. The winery continues to distinguish themselves with their most recent success, a Cabernet Sauvignon Ice Wine, to compliment their diversified wine selection. The winemaking tradition continues with the help of the newest generation.

 

Our motto: “Drink Wine, Laugh Often, Live Long!” pretty much sums up what we do here. Our goal is to produce award winning wines that compete at the national level. That is exactly what we have been doing ever since the early 1970’s. Come for a visit and take a guided cellar tour to learn all about the art of making wine, enjoy some of our delectable Norman Love chocolates, maybe even stay for dinner in our beautiful dining room overlooking the vineyards, oh and don’t forget the wine!

 

The Round Barn Winery, Distillery, and Micro-Brewery is a very exciting place to spend your time. As our name indicates we not only produce fine Lake Michigan Shore wines, we also have a lineup of distilled spirits and interesting brews on tap. With wine making classes, festivals, and seasonal weekend live music; there is always something going on to keep you entertained!

 

Wine Master, Leonard R. Olson, who has an extensive and impressive history in the industry, is the operating manager of Founders Wine Cellar. Mr. Olson began planting grapes in Southwest Michigan in 1968.

 

Mr. Olson’s wines have won numerous awards and medals. His wines were named Best of Show three of the first four years that the Michigan State Fair competition was held. Mr. Olson won metals with Washington State grown Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer. In 1983, his 1982 vintage Select Berry Sweet Harvest Vidal was awarded more points than any other wine in this 25-year-old competition. Finally, the most impressive and most memorable recognition for his work was when President Ford, in the White House, served Mr. Olson’s first vintage dated wine from Michigan-grown grapes at State dinners.

 

The South Haven vineyard was established in 2008 by Jack and Deb Murdoch on the original plot of land owned by Jack's grandfather, Harry Cogdal.  The property has hosted fruit trees, vegetable crops, Christmas trees, asparagus, a nursery, and now a vineyard.  Cogdal Vineyards is situated less than 1/2 mile from Lake Michigan.  The closeness to the lake helps regulate temperatures that promote healthy vines and superior grapes. They currently have 7 acres of multiple varieties of vines in the ground producing grapes for wine production. We plan on growing to 18 acres of grapes. This will allow them to offer the majority of their wines as estate grown and bottled.

The vineyard was established in 2008 by Jack and Deb Murdoch on the original plot of land owned by Jack's grandfather, Harry Cogdal.  Harry re-located (literally moved a portion of his family's house), after an initial attempt to farm on Lake Michigan on the west side of Blue Star.  Since then the property has been in continuous agricultural operation and has undergone an evolution through time.  The property has hosted fruit trees, vegetable crops, Christmas trees, asparagus, a nursery, and now a vineyard.  Cogdal Vineyards is situated less than 1/2 mile from Lake Michigan.  The closeness to the lake helps regulate temperatures that promote healthy vines and superior grapes.

 

We currently have 7 acres of multiple varieties of vines in the ground producing grapes for wine production. We plan on growing to 18 acres of grapes.  This will allow us to offer the majority of our wines as estate grown and bottled.
